I absolutely loved the first book and I wanted to keep reading this trilogy. Don't get me wrong this is a good book but it is not in the same category as the first book. I felt that the beginning of the book plot was cut short too soon and then the middle just dragged on and on. Also Alina and Mal really annoyed me. Oh the drama! The one positive was that I did really enjoy the Nikolai. I am looking forward to continuing the series but not as much as I was.

Really didn’t hold my attention, got bored with it. Couldn’t honestly wait for it to be done with. Not sure if I’ll pick up the third book - honestly this is why I usually don’t read series, especially back to back.
