oh my god.
the way the author set up this universe and plot is amazing because it looks into more than just villain vs hero. this book began to look into the politics of the grishaverse and i personally loved it.
not to mention the drama that was created between the couple we were all rooting for (i think) and the the new character (that i could not help falling in love with) was amazing.
i also love how it was written because i could not turn the pages fast enough in some parts.
as there always is in fantasy books, there was many parts that were just world building, but it all made sense!
i cannot wait to see how they do this book for the show!

A very well done follow up book. I really enjoyed the beginning, but the middle is where I struggled to have the motivation to keep going.
Mal broke my heart but so did Alina- dude what happened here? The fact that Mal and Alina could not communicate or have an actual truthful conversation in this book was literally the most frustrating thing ever. The whole book could have been condensed by a lot and still would have advanced the plot and introduced all the new info- everything else is just white noise (aka the drama between Mal, Alina and Nikolai and the Darkling).
THAT ending was CRAZY though.

I really couldn't stand this book. I got about 80% of the way through it and DNF. Apparently not my cup of tea.
THE PLOT WAS ONE OF THE CRAZIEST, MOST WELL WRITTEN AND MIND BOGFLING I'VE EVER HAD THE PLEASURE TO READ HSJSJWJJWJWJQJ ACTUALLY COULD'VE FINISHED IT IN A DAY WDYM??? I DIDN'T THINK I COULD ENJOY FANTASY THIS MUCH (I usually do it's just that this is on a WHOLE other level)
