I might be becoming a romance girly??? And it has everything to do with Abby Jimenez. Your truly? A delight. Part of your work? Cute af. But this one??? This one??? Takes the cake. Maybe it’s because Im am oldest sibling who had to grow up too fast because my parents didn’t parent. Maybe it’s because I have an avoidant attachment style but if this book didn’t have me sobbing on one page and giggling kicking my feet the next. The care that Jimenez put into crafting a story about these two variously broken people - OW.  And the last 50 pages???? Ouch. But also :) I don’t know I’ve run out of thoughts. But WOW

I loved this book! I read it in one sitting. The characters feel so real and dimensional, their interactions and the premise are so wonderful. I really liked the love story, the medium burn, the FMC letting herself fall and realizing how awful her mom is. I will say the ending left a bit to be desired but I get that the book was about them finding each other - it isn’t about the after but only the beginning. It has found family, he falls first, fake dating, all of my favorite romance tropes.
