This was okay- but probably my least favorite book from this author. Just not super memorable. 2/5
This book was good beginning to end. How the story of Katie and Chris weaved together with the story of the future-seeing serial killer was wonderful. The idea of a future-seeing serial killer in general interested me and I had to find out what that was all about. I was surprised at the ending and really enjoyed it. I would definitely recommend this book.
4.5 stars rounded down
Katie's brother is missing. Someone may be watching/following her daughter. The police respond to a gruesome murder. How are all of these connected? Could they all be related to legendary serial killer who claimed to see the future?
This book was a fun ride. I was intrigued the whole time and read this book very quickly. Actually I listened to the audiobook and think the narrator did a great job! I think Alex North did a great job of weaving together a lot of characters and plot points into a cohesive narrative. The beginning was a little bit confusing because of the many characters and plot threads, but it came together quickly. I enjoyed getting all the characters POVs because it allows for information to be learned slowly throughout the book. It also gave me a sense of each character's personality. I found the addition of philosophy and the theory of determinism a very interesting component of the book. My only real complaint is that I wish this book leaned more into the telling the future idea.

I don't know what's wrong with me, but this book had me so confused. There were so many characters and timelines to keep track of and my 40+ weeks pregnant brain just couldn't do it.
Thank you NetGalley and Celadon for the chance to read the advance copy!

I took a bit of time to get into this story as the plot threads weren't easy for me to get in to. As the story progressed and I understood the links, I enjoyed it and was hooked.

So,
Thanks Netgalley for my ARC copy.
I didn't get it.
The story started off promising, devious things happen based on the decisions we make, or, regardless of the decisions we make?
Katie Shaw made one "selfish" decision that changed her life, and those of her family, forever.
The book bounces from past to present in a slew of "it's my turn now" POVs, telling a story that should really be captivating (because of it's violent origins) but ended up missing the mark for me.
The characters barely had a chance to develop because of the ping ponging of POVs, both past and present which left me trying to sync it all up so it could make sense.
I did enjoy the first few chapters, they pulled me in and had all the markings of an unforgettable mystery.
Alas, this one wasn't my cuppa

I’m not sure what I was expecting reading this book, but I was kind of disappointed. Based on the description, I thought it would be much more suspenseful and more of a thriller. Instead, I found it incredibly confusing and I struggled to finish it. By the end, I just didn’t care for the characters or the plot… I was just glad it was over.
