After a decade, I finally read the full series. And wow yeah this was amazing. I get why everyone absolutely loved these books. They were amazing. The way all the characters were written just made you love them from the first word. I absolutely love this series.
However, I thought book one and two were better. Book three was good but it didn't fully hook me like the previous two. Mostly due to the pacing I think. The first half was quite slow and then the second half moved so fast and rapidly glossed over several quite big things that left me confused and wanting more elaboration at certain points and for certain moments.

for example finnick getting left behind and dying happened within the blink of an eye when I really thought he deserved as much on page time to die as Boggs who, in my opinion, is a less important and less prominent character. But I also actually felt like that about Prim dying. The transition from those bombs going off to Katniss being back to 13 was very jarring in a way that I didn't really register prim had even died at first. 

 
I still cried though.
Katniss is still aro ace in my mind. 
And this series was definitely worth the read even a decade too late.

Really struggled to finish this. I was a huge fan of the first two in the series so I thought this was going to be good but I was wrong. Stupidly slow pace in the beginning but in the last 80ish pages everything started going so fast I couldn't keep up. Nothing was explained clearly enough, characters were dropping dead like flies and I had to watch the film to actually understand the ending! I still don't know who half of the characters are, I finished the book and was glad it was over with, took me three months though. Wouldn't recommend.
