Let's just say I would GLADLY slam my hand in a door to read A Court of Mist and Fury for the first time again. I absolutely loved this in pretty much every way possible.
Let's just start with Rhysand. He was amazing. While his actions Under the Mountain were suspect (he kind of forced Feyre into several uncomfortable situations), I thought he grew as a character here. We got to see a character who was strong and powerful, but used that power in a good way, even if the rest of the world saw him as a villain. Overall, I like Rhysand. A lot. But the dude shouldn't have done that to Feyre in ACOTAR.
(EDIT 4/2/22): After rereading this review and having been exposed to other people's thoughts on Rhys' actions, I've come to see that his actions weren't only suspect, but violating and so much more on so many levels that I didn't really see upon my first time reading this book. It has changed my perception of the book and while it still holds a place in my heart, I won't condone Rhys' actions to feel as though the book isn't tainted. I will leave my original review up, but I felt like this addition was important.
The other characters had an amazing dynamic as well as individuality. Personally, I loved Amren. Feyre was interesting as well and I liked her a more in ACOMAF than in A Court of Thorns and Roses. Spoiler Also, that Starfall chapter? Glorious. Not to mention I shipped them since ACOTAR, which made ACOMAF all the much better.
On the other hand, I wanted to whack Tamlin's face. He was such a prick and I wanted to hit something every time I saw his name Spoiler particularly at the end when it's revealed that he has been working with King Hybern.
I am stoked for the next book and am going to die if Spoiler Rhys and Feyre are not reunited at some point in it. Hehe. Can't wait!!
Moderate: Eating disorder
Minor: Sexual harassment
It's not so much mentions of an eating disorder rather than disordered eating? There's not explicit mentions of a disorder, but it is hammered into the reader that Feyre is sickly, thin, and lifeless when returning from the Spring Court. As to the sexual harrassment, it's shown that what Feyre did with Rhys Under the Mountain was not consensual on her part because she was drugged. I'm not sure really where it falls, but I figured that label is somewhat appropriate.niinabulic's review against another edition
