The ACOTAR series is such an easy read. The problems that are focused on are much more relatable when it comes to mental health and relationships. I think that’s why so many people love it.

This book starts 3 months after the ending of ACOTAR. The POV is so heavily on Feyre and her journey, that not much is know about what else is going on in the kingdoms.

The first half of the book is very much about Feyre’s mental health and getting her identity back. It’s slower, for sure. But so many interesting bits of information is given as we look into Rhys and the night courts ways. Once things pick up, they really pick up.

The characters are really well written and expanded on. The plot is slow because of all the relationship building, but once things get going, they sprint.

In the end you are on the edge of your seat with a great cliffhanger, NEEDING the next book immediately.

Feel like it’s not a TRUE 5 star because I’m comparing it too much to the first ACOTAR book which was easily 2-3 stars for me. This one was infinitely better. The actual presence of a plot, the 100% more believable
slow-burn/enemies-to-lovers
, the 10x steamier sex… what more can I ask for tbh? Maybe a slightly better pacing and delving a bit deeper into protag’s relationships with characters other than the love interest would be the answers that would make it 5 stars.

A Court of Mist and Fury is beyond five stars and is going to be hard to top. I’ll be thinking about it probably forever.

What an unbelievably genius second book in a series. So many twists and turns. Both Rhysand and Feyre are smart and cunning. I especially loved the found family aspect with Mor, Amren, Azriel and Cassian. The slow burn of learning and trusting and revealing hidden secrets made the romance even better. CHAPTER 54 broke me and chapter 55 healed me!

I never expected the end.

Feyre is high lady of the night court! Tamlin betrayed her! She’s spying on the spring court now! Nesta and Elain becoming fae and Lucien saying Elain is his mate! Ugh this book was perfection

The first ACOTAR book really was not my favorite. I forced myself to read this one because everyone said it was much better than the first, they were right. This book really drew me in, showed me a whole new side of these characters, and encapsulated me the entire time! This is the book that made me better understand the world as well as the first book had me a little lost world wise. Would definitely recommend picking up this book even if you weren’t a fan of the first one to see if this one redeems the series for you!
