This is where I part ways with this series.

I really like this cast of characters, however, the plot moves a little too slowly for me to care. If you're interested in slice-of-life, coming of age books then I would definitely recommend this to you. I'm just a fan of fast moving plot and high stakes.

book 4 and 5 is when we start to see discussions of themes of self acceptance. In general I know often this is advertised for YA and teens but there are a lot of topics here that even an adult can reflect on. Am I truly happy with who I am and what identity I have currenlty? And if not, what do I wish I could be or could do? This is a great series so far

Oh. Oh poor Toma, oh no. I keep trying to explain this one to my friend as I'm reading, and it's getting both easier and more difficult at the same time. This is definitely one of my favourites, mostly because there's just so much going on all the time and the entire thing is just giving me such lowkey anxiety.
