I love Angela Marson's series so much. I'm sorry there aren't more to read. She may appear to have a tough exterior but she has such a soft spot for the weak and downtrodden. I know she is just a character but I find myself rooting for her and wishing she would accept help so that she can see all that life has to offer her.

Love love LOVED this book. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time, eager to turn each and every page. And the twist had me shook!!! Completely unpredictable and a really enjoyable read.

I really liked this book. The storyline was very interesting and kept me on my toes. The only thing I regret is listening to it on audiobook. The lady who read it made cringe worthy noises with her mouth. Really grossed me out.

Two girls go missing. Only one will return.
The couple that offers the highest amount will see their daughter again. The losing couple will not. Make no mistake. One child will die.

When nine-year-old best friends Charlie and Amy disappear, two families are plunged into a living nightmare. A text message confirms the unthinkable; that the girls are the victims of a terrifying kidnapping.

And when a second text message pits the two families against each other for the life of their children, the clock starts ticking for D.I. Kim Stone and the squad.

Seemingly outwitted at every turn, as they uncover a trail of bodies, Stone realises that these ruthless killers might be the most deadly she has ever faced. And that their chances of bringing the girls home alive, are getting smaller by the hour…

Untangling a dark web of secrets from the families’ past might hold the key to solving this case. But can Kim stay alive long enough to do so? Or will someone’s child pay the ultimate price?

Lost Girls is the third installment of the DI Kim Stone series and like the previous two books, it had me hooked from the first page. The book was fast moving and keep me wanting to read 'just one more chapter', regardless of the night-time hours.

As a parent myself, I could not imagine having to go through a bidding match with close friends in order to get only one child back. DI Kim Stone is a strong and determined character, but she has her flaws; but I think she's great!

I have no hesitation in recommending this novel to all crime/thriller lovers.

Love it love it love it! If I could give this more than 5 stars I would. Suffice to say this is a 5++++++++ star read once again for me.

The author has done it again, produced a story which kept me reading, in one sitting, until I reached the end. The storyline kept me guessing throughout and I couldn't wait to find out how it would end. And it was so worth waiting for. The ending is so well done. Just when you think you have it worked out, the author goes and surprises us again.

This is a must read for fans of this author, as well as fans of police procedural stories. Yet again I would put this story alongside books from authors such as James Patterson. It has instantly gone to the top of my favourites list, as has the author.

This was definitely a gripping story, and I was extremely concerned for both Charlie and Amy. I really loved the way the story flowed and it definitely got me feeling all of the tension!

4 stelle e mezzo.

BLUF: If you can get past rough main character, pick this one up.

**I was provided a copy of this book from netgalley.com in exchange for an honest review**

After reading the description of this book, I had to read it.

Series: This book is third in the D.I. Kim Stone series, but can be read as a standalone. That said, the characters are not introduced and the reader is expected to understand them from previous novels. For me, this wasn‰ЫЄt a major issue, but it did negatively affect the amount I enjoyed this book.

Plot: Nine-year-old best friends are kidnapped. The families of these girls are very close and are prepared to do whatever it takes to get both their daughters back. Well.. they were until the kidnapper determined that only the girl whose parents bid the highest will be freed. Can D.I. Stone and her team deter the parents from giving in long enough to try and save both daughters?

The bad: Because this is a series, the characters aren‰ЫЄt introduced in this book and, as a result, felt a little flat in comparison to the characters new to the series. I wasn‰ЫЄt able to pick up the personality of Stone‰ЫЄs team and I wasn‰ЫЄt exactly fan of Stone‰ЫЄs bad attitude. The other thing I really didn‰ЫЄt enjoy was that a crude sexual act was used to help build the evilness behind the kidnapper. I know many authors use this tactic, but I really hate it. The evilness is well described without this incident.
SpoilerAnother minor concept, but there weren‰ЫЄt many clues leading up to figuring out who/where the kidnapper was. It was like one minute they knew nothing, then the hypnotism happened, and suddenly they are at the barn.

The good: I couldn‰ЫЄt put this book down! Despite disliking Stone‰ЫЄs attitude it didn‰ЫЄt stop me from enjoying the book or her role in it. I enjoyed the dynamics between the new characters and adored the dialogue. This book is fast paced and I definitely will be reading more from this author and this series ‰ЫТ preferably from the start so I can better understand Stone‰ЫЄs selfishness.
