I'm the author of this book, which I wrote because I at the time, I could find no information on the methods and materials of parasol restoration either online or in libraries. 

If you are interested in learning more about parasols and how to repair, restore, and recover new or vintage/antique parasol frames, this book will be a valuable reference. I talk about several methods to create a pattern if your frame has a damaged canopy or the fabric is entirely missing, and strategies to repair elements of the frame mechanism. 

I wrote it initially with theatrical costumers in mind, but also for the broader audience of anyone with an interest in the topic--historical costumers, living history interpreters, those who enjoy making their own fashion accessories, anyone really!
