These prequel novellas were written prior to Throne of Glass, but were not released until after as a bind up. I highly recommend reading this one after Crown of Midnight or Heir of Fire if it's your first time reading the series as it gives things away in the first couple books that pack more of a punch if you don't know them. I read this one after Crown of Midnight since Heir of Fire was technically published after it.
