A refugee or displaced author is someone who has had to leave their home country because of conflict, political persecution, war, violence, or environmental disasters. Refugees leave their country to seek safety, asylum, or better opportunities elsewhere. Displaced persons are people who have been forced to move within their own country, often due to similar reasons, but have not crossed international borders.
