Overview
The Backstory:
Recently I've been wanting to learn more about the progression of fantasy over time by reading more classic fantasy. Classic fantasy often gets shafted a little bit (sometimes rightly so) for being formulaic and stuffy. But there are also some great treasures out there as well! The biggest hurdle has been finding traditional fantasies that are worth trying out of a century of fantasy. Through talking with friends and researching some of the "greats" of classic SFF, I've compiled a list of classic fantasies that come highly recommended and would be a great addition to your classic fantasy TBR.
The Goal:
Read 12 Classic Fantasy novels in 2023. They do NOT have to be from the recommendation list below.
The Reward:
Bragging rights and the satisfaction of a complete Storygraph Challenge!
Where:
Visit @zoeelizabethk on Instagram for templates to share your reads and discuss. Update your progress on Storygraph. This is a relaxed challenge, so there are no specific prompts, just 12 spots to log your 12 classic fantasies.
