September 2024 - Burial Rites is a special book in my family as the story is based on a young woman in Iceland a few centuries back who falls in love with a young pastor, who happens to be one of my ancestors, and who carries the same name as my father! I love this book as the visual journey is fantastic and it takes me on a journey through my heritage and country. It's also the most compelling story! [Song: Promise]

November 2024 - As someone who grew up close to a sister, Little Women by Louisa May Alcott has always felt like a familiar voice to me. Each character has so much spirit and personality. It's such a classic! [Song: Carousel]

April 2025 - A Wrinkle In Time was one of the first chapter books I remember reading. The sense of wonder threaded throughout the story feels like the type of wonder I hope to infuse in my songs.[Song: Clockwork]

May 2025 - Bonjour Tristesse is one of those quietly haunting books that lingers long after you finish it. Francoise Sagan captures the melancholy and recklessness of youth so well. One of my favorite summer picks! [Song: Forget-Me-Not]

June 2025 - Blue Sisters by Coco Mellors navigates grief, addiction, and the complexities of family to find healing and reconnection. 

July 2025 - If you're a romantic at heart like me, Open Water by Caleb Azumah Nelson will stir something deep in your soul. It's a poetic, intimate portrayal of Black love, vulnerability, and the ache of being truly seen. [Song: Cautionary Tale]

August 2025 - This whimsical but haunting novel by Mona Awad is surreal, satirical and dripping with atmosphere. It's a world where beauty and menace walk hand in hand and the themes of dark academia are similar to my album themes as well for A Matter of Time. [Song: Silver Lining]

September 2025 - Katabasis by R.F. Kuang explores ambition, grief, and the hellish cost of academia through themes of power, memory, and flawed human connection. 

This book was sold at the Laufey Book Club pop ups at bookstores during the Goddess tour. - Persuasion tells a story of kindred spirits, second chances, and the limits to love posed by regency-era social rankings. The language and words that Jane Austen uses are a treat for the brain — I find that l can pour over them for hours. Despite the fact that it was written in 1817, the narrative is exceedingly modern and relevant for today. I highly recommend this book for anybody who wishes to whisk themselves away to the English countryside on a chilly autumn day. [Song: Let You Break My Heart Again]
