Overview
Telenovelas have been a staple in the Latiné household for a very long time. A quick historical fact about telenovelas, they evolved from radionovelas! These were 15-minute radio segments, first broadcasted in the 1930's. Later in the 1950's, the television broadcasting of 30-minute telenovelas debuted, soon extending to full-hour episodes.
Through telenovelas Latiné and Hispanic communities watched so many romance tropes told in many different ways. The extra drama and flair that telenovelas are known for are the reasons we live for over-the-top love stories. Hence, why this readathon was created, just in time for Latiné and Hispanic Heritage Month!
