This challenge (with no time limit) is based on the list of 100 essential women writers as published by Jessica Doyle at AbeBooks.com (https://www.abebooks.com/books/best-female-authors/index.shtml). I have added several other authors to increase the diversity, genre range, and international representation of the list. Authors with an asterisk (*) were not included on the original. This is obviously not comprehensive!
