Overview
This challenge is intended to spread awareness of books that represent types of Diabetes Mellitus:
- type 1 and its variants (LADA/type 1.5, monogenic, cystic-fibrosis related diabetes)
- MODY
- type 2
- type 3
- gestational
If the type is not specified, please use your best judgement on which prompt to add it to.
Most prompts are geared towards T1D, as that is what the challenge moderator has. Feel free to add books with any representated type to any prompt that fits.
If the representation given in the book is poor or inaccurate, you can still add it to a prompt but please state the innacuracies in your review so other readers know what to expect. If unsure whether or not the representation is accurate, please state that in your review as well.
Representation for this challenge can include both main characters and side characters, unless stated otherwise in a prompt.
Own Voices are preferred but difficult to find, so other stories will count. Please state in your review if the author is openly diabetic. If they are not open about whether or not they're diabetic, please respect their privacy.
One book can be used to fill multiple prompts, unless stated otherwise in the prompt description.
Books in any language can be used for prompts.
Do NOT add recipe books or medical books to this!
Happy reading!
