Overview
The season of shadows has arrived, and there’s magic afoot. You’ve discovered a family grimoire filled with spells and enchantments. Your task is to cast as many as possible before the veil falls at midnight on Samhain.
How the challenge works:
Each spell contains a set of three themed reading prompts, known as “charms”. Complete all three charms to cast the spell.
There are three difficulty levels for this challenge. Choose the level that best suits your reading speed.
Sole Sigil (hard): each book completed can only be assigned to one charm.
Twin Sigil (medium): each book completed can be assigned to two charms, earning points for both.
Triple Sigil (easy): each book completed can be assigned to and earn points for three charms. However, books can only be assigned to a maximum of two charms from the same spell. A single book cannot be used to complete all three charms for a single spell.
Choose the spells that call to you, and work through them in any order.
Each prompt completed earns two points. Each spell cast earns 5 points. Bonus points can be earned by completing extra tasks.
Cast as many spells and charms as you can between October 1 and November 1, 2025. On November 1, calculate your power rank and discover your new title.
All books counted toward the challenge must be completed in October.
Complete the Page Mages Book Club pick for October, “A Witch’s Guide to Magical Innkeeping” by Sangu Mandanna, for an extra 5 points. This can also be counted towards the spell prompts.

Novellas and graphic novels can be counted towards prompts.
