Overview
Originally hosted in Yolo County on Beanstack, "52" is an annual reading challenge with unique prompts every year. 52 weeks in a year = about a book a week! The 2025 theme is United States territories.
Books qualify if they are set in the territory, the author is from there, or the book suits the territory nickname. (For example, a book with a golden cover can count for The Golden State, California.)
The rules of the challenge are as follows:
Books qualify if they are set in the territory, the author is from there, or the book suits the territory nickname. (For example, a book with a golden cover can count for The Golden State, California.)
The rules of the challenge are as follows:
- Each book must only be logged for one prompt. For example, A book set in California by an author from Texas may only be logged under either Texas or California.
- Any format counts, audiobooks, ebooks, paper, etc. (If you log a fanfic, I promise not to tell! 😉)
- Read as many books to fill out the prompts as you can! You do not have to fill all 52 prompts to be considered successful at the challenge.
Thank you to Yolo County Library for hosting this exciting challenge every year! Thank you to The Storygraph for giving me an online system to log the books for each prompt. (Beanstack only marks the prompts as completed— it cannot tie your logged books to each prompt.)
