We're going to read the book in chronological order of events! 
Please understand that some of the novellas, specially from the Shadowhunters Academy may contain spoilers from the Mortal Instruments, since they include reminiscences from the past of chracters and some of them we only meet later. 
If you're reading for the first time, I recommend reading them in publication order!
