Overview
Welcome to my feminist reading challenge!
I created this feminist reading bingo (mainly for myself) in August 2021. Feminist books whether fiction or nonfiction are my favourite type of books. I've been having so much fun with it that I wanted to share the challenge on here as well.
What do you mean by feminist books?
That's entirely up to you. I included some prompts that are aimed towards feminist reading such as "A Second Wave Feminist Text" or "A Feminist Classic". I also tried to incorporate some books to make the challenge a little more intersectional and diverse like "Written by a LGBTQIA+ author". But in the end, it's your choice which books you see as fitting and want to include in the challenge.
Why is it called a bingo?
Because I originally posted it as a bingo on my Instagram and on my blog. But since I love using The StoryGraph, I also wanted to add it as a challenge for the community on here. You can find the bingo card for the challenge here or on @therecoveringbookworm, if you're interested.
Notes:
- The original bingo had a square for "Read Texts from at least 3 Different Continents" to make the reading more geographically diverse. I changed it to three different prompts (one for every continent) on here. The same goes for the prompts about reading texts originally written in 3 different languages (translated books count, of course).
- The bingo had also some activities like taking time for self-care or watching a documentary. Since they don't really work on The StoryGraph I included them as bonus prompts. Feel free to just add any book for these prompts, if you have completed them.
- You can add one book for several prompts, if you want to.
Have fun! I can't wait to see which books you'll add to the different prompts.
