Overview
How many countries can you travel to through books? Listed below are countries/locations from around the globe. Books listed under each country should mainly take place in the location listed. There is no start or end date to this challenge as this is an ongoing goal for those who participate. This list was created to help keep track of which locations individuals have read about.
This list can and does include both fiction and non-fiction as both aid to tell the stories of the locations the books take place.
Note from Creator: This was created when the Readerly app shut down as the map feature was one of my personal favorite features and I wanted it to live on somehow. I'd love help in finding books that take place in countries that are not frequently written about.
NOTE: The goal of this list is to focus on books who have settings that take place in these countries/states. The characters live/work/explore/travel to these countries within the pages of the book. Books that do not take place (at least partially) in the specific country/state listed should not be considered as fulfilling the challenge requirements. My hope is to promote diverse, intentional reading and trying to find stories from places that are written about less commonly.
