Welcome to Shorty September 2025!
 

This read-a-thon was started by Bert and Siân of Pastory Time, and although this year they won’t be hosting this fantastic reading event, you can still see what Siân is reading on TikTok. 

To honour Bert, this year’s prompts are a combination of classic Bert prompts and new ones, including a bonus prompt!

Our hosts this year are Heather of Too Many Heathers (Instagram: gormodoheathers) will carry the torch this year along with Karen of Roving Reader (Instagram: Roving_Reader) and Crystal of Fiberartsy (Instagram: fiberartsy). Many thanks to these lovely folks for hosting this beloved read-a-thon! 

The prompt sheet is a nostalgic work of art that Heather created for us. You can access both versions of the prompt sheet (PDF & .png files) here. The linked Google Drive folder also contains the individual illustrations (Thank you, Heather!) Quick note: I live in Canada but wasn’t able to get all of the prompts to fit on an 8.5 x 11 or A4 sheet of paper when I printed the PDF (even using the 'shrink to fit' setting), but it fit perfectly when I printed the .png version.
