Welcome to The StoryGraph's 2024 Read the World challenge! This is our third year running this challenge, and we hope our returning participants have been enjoying their literary travels so far. The aim of this challenge is to get people picking up books from countries they've never read from before, to broaden our reading horizons, and appreciate literature from around the globe. 

For 2024, we've picked 10 new countries for you to visit via books. A few of the countries selected will provide more opportunities for you to pick up translated literature too, and we hope you find some new gems along the way! 

You can choose to read fiction or nonfiction books for this challenge. The goal is to read a book set in the country, by an author from that country. You can definitely read from authors in that country's diaspora too, but please try to choose books which are physically set in that country (or at least partly!). The aim is to try to get outside of the US and UK. :-)
