Overview
- Inspired by the readers of /r/historicalromance we bring you this bingo!
The rules, if you choose to obey them:
- All books must be Historical Romance!
- A love story is the plot - the book would not make sense without the romantic plot.
- A happy ending - romance requires a HEA (happily ever after) or HFN (happy for now) ending.
- Please don’t reuse a book for multiple squares. There should be 25 individual books upon completion of the bingo.
- Try to only reuse an author once.
- Only two of the squares can be rereads – part of the challenge is pushing yourself!
- The book can have any level of spice/erotic content that you like and are comfortable with. Nothing but kisses and fade to black? Absolutely valid. You should enjoy what you read.
- There can be more than two love interests, and most squares can and should be applicable to any culture or gender/sexuality. Okay, probably not the Fabio one.
- Hard mode and bonus prompts are just for fun or for you to compete against yourself – if you hit 25 squares then you have fully completed the bingo. You can do all, some, or no squares on hard mode.
- Follow your instincts on whether or not you think a book should count for the bingo, and/or hard mode.
- Consider pushing your comfort zone a little outside of what you usually read – maybe pick at least one square with the focus on a society, culture, or location who you haven’t read before. You never know where you’ll find your next favourite story or author!
- It would be really great if you find a new book that you enjoy, that you leave a review! These days most authors really do rely on online reviews to be able to continue to sell their work, and there has been a marked decline in historical romance over the last few years.
