FAQs
1) Can I read the same book for more than one category?
One Book For Each Prompt (sorry folks, if one book fits into more than one, you have to choose)
2) Am I supposed to read all 100 book?
Are ye mad? The goal is to challenge yourself and mix things up, but that doesn’t mean stressing yourself out. If you only read 5 books a year, but still want to participate in the challenge, that is not a problem! Just join us for the fun ;)
Just for the craic, there are levels for the challenge (you *don't have* to reach those levels, you can stop before):
LEVEL BARRY = 1 book
LEVEL AODGHÁN = 5 books
LEVEL DARREN MCCORMACK = 15 books
LEVEL ANNE FLANAGAN = 30 books
LEVEL GERALD = 52 books
LEVEL BROTHER MICHAEL = 75 books
LEVEL THE SNOB = 100 books
3) Can I read a book, use an ebook or listening to an audiobook?
Yes, yes and yes :) If the request is to find a book with something specific on the cover, you can still use the paper version of the book (while reading the ebook or listening to the audio version). Books bought new, already owned or from a library are all fine. Re-reading a book is also ok.
4) How many pages do the books have to be?
It doesn't matter. You can read books with less than 100 pages, if you like.
5) What kind of books can I read for the challenge?
Novels, short stories, essays, biography/autobiography, poetry – maybe not how-to-guide or cooking books?
6) Can I read in my own language/another language?
Yes, absolutely, The book doesn't need to be translated in English: if the request is to have a word in the title or in the text, we trust you :)
