I read this book in middle school (which in hindsight was probably too early to appreciate it) and did not enjoy it. There's something about reading a character who is so despicable you literally never agree with a single behavior...I'm not a fan. Scarlet is impossible to enjoy and the other characters never grabbed me enough to get over the fact that they were southerners during the Civil War. I understand the importance of this novel and it's cultural significance but it's not one I would re-read. I'm as much a lover of the twisted sexy bad guy, but even Rhett got under my collar in a way I did't appreciate.
I know this seems like a total tear down of a classic beloved novel, but it just didn't float my boat :/
