Juniper Unraveling
by Julie Belfield, Keri Lake
4.75 stars FOR ONE REASON ONLY : i could not make it 5 stars because i skimmed on some pages, mostly towards the beginning of the end which was fucking fantastic. Like the little calm before the storm moment.
This was so fucking good my heart hurts. Its dark. So dark. Shit happens to children on page.
Its set in a horrible horrible horrible world were some people are privileged and some are tortured. Of our two fmc’s Wren is among the privileged and Dani is among the tortured. The plot twist knocked the fucking wind out of me, i had a suspicion but fuck me man, with all my powers of deduction and my slightly toxic tendency of jumping to conclusions, I didnt even think of that. I gasped so hard i feel like dislocated my jaw.
Mixed feelings about our guy Dr. F, not sure if i hate him or not. But I certainly appreciate his little coup de grace at the end.
Dani. If someone more loyal and fierce ever excited, ive never met them. What she went through. Damn it man im gonna cry again
