aside from the bad wolf sociobiology (which i can kind of excuse as a by-product of genetic experimentation and/or levana's own ideas about hierarchy and power ) this is a solid sequel to cinder. keeping cinder and kai relevant with their own perspective chapters helps integrate scarlet and wolf into the world of the lunar chronicles smoothly. alas, thorne is not my favorite. this book is quite a bit darker in terms of explicit and implied violence, but appropriately ups the ante. i remember not liking it as much as the others, but i think i just favored cinder herself so much that i didn't appreciate the new storylines as much. onto the next!
Graphic: Torture, Blood, Cannibalism, Murder
