No rating but had to DNF this book around the 15% mark (based off my Kindle) because I kept getting the ick from how the author described women versus men. It was really blatant since his two MCs are the opposite sex.
How he described Helena and the world around her in her POV compared to how he described Barry and the world around him is very different in terms of language used imo. It kept making me pause as I read thinking “THATS how he wants to describe this situation/person/environment??” as I read both POV’s to the point I kept just sighing and rolling my eyes as I progressed.
I finally just snapped and returned the book to my library without another thought and I’m not even mad about it.
