Moonlight Mile
by Dennis Lehane
Solid book, and solid wrap-up to the Patrick Kenzie/Angie Gennaro series. This book returns to the case from Gone Baby Gone (you may remember the movie). It's twleve years later, Patrick and Angie are still a team, and now Amanda mcCready has disappeared again. Good writing, a bit wistful about how we're all much older now. Things hurt more, people's evil bites more, and it's harder to feel like a good guy if you're a PI. I wish Angie had gotten a bit more to do, but was very interested in Amanda and her choices. Lehane still can look unflinchingly at the human condition with all its ugliness, pathos, and beauty. It's nice to see old characters who have become friends do well for themselves in the end.
