The Forgotten Book by Mechthild Gläser

3.0

Jane Austen mishmash retelling meets the fantastical. It's a neat idea but the execution was only so/so. Many of the characters didn't seem fully flushed. Emma was an underwhelming heroine, Darcy was 2 -dimensional, and their "love story" just seemed like required fodder. It had some truly cool elements which left me enjoying the read overall.
