She Drives Me Crazy by Kelly Quindlen
4.0

3.5 stars rounded up. This was a really cute and heartwarming YA read that features an enemies-to-lovers fake dating scenario (also, sports lesbians!). Scottie is a flawed but compelling main character and Irene provides a nice balance to her. I am always a big fan of enemies to lovers and I though this one was well done. The setting was also really fun and I had no trouble picturing the quirky Christmas town of Grandma Earl.

I definitely had some quibbles with this book, such as the fact that we are never really shown how Tally was toxic. I think that is so important to have books that acknowledge that f/f relationships can be just as unhealthy as m/f ones, but I feel like this book missed an opportunity to actually show how bad Tally was to Scottie. I also didn't love the way that Scottie pressures Irene to come out as part of their scheme. I know that Irene said she was on board with it but I just didn't like how that part was presented.
