Bad writing.

It's repetitive, lazy, confusing, and long-winded. Sentences are whole paragraphs long and multiple times difficult to understand and awkward. The wording is very simple but from time to time author throws in some obscure adjectives or nouns which I actually had to look up a couple of times. It made me wonder if the author's native language is not English because it was so bad.

What's even worse is the hero. I have no words. It's beyond me how can ANYONE be attracted to such a selfish douche. While reading the book I felt physically suffocated due to his actions. It has never happened to me before and I'm pretty damn sure it's not the vibe the author was going for.

It makes me sad because I was so excited to read this book. I literally squealed when I found out about it. However, the world decided to play a joke on me and gave me a book with love interest so immature he can't help but vent his anger on a woman just because he's attracted to her and he can't deal with the fact she's lesbian. All the while saying he has nothing against lesbians. A round of applause for Freyr, please.

Seriously, that should have been enough of a red flag but I shrugged it off as if it's nothing and kept on reading and it only got worse. Definitely not a redeemable asshole or gentle brute or anything like that. Disgusting.

In all honesty, I was so excited about this book that I was willing to continue because it might get better but then I saw a flood of negative reviews and took in my fair share of spoilers and decided I shouldn't torture myself just because I am too stubborn to waste such a cool idea. If you know, you know...
