Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros

Did not finish book. Stopped at 23%.
20 year old Violet Sorrengail was meant to become a scribe, but her mother, the commanding general has other plans for Violet and that is for her to become a dragon rider. Violet is smaller and lives with a fragile body, putting her at higher risk than most… oh and too boot most dragons don’t want to bond with anyone and the few that do people will kill you to be able to bond with instead. Every day she’s hoping to see another day.

This was a book club pick and after seeing everyone’s rave reviews I was so excited to be forced to try it as fantasy isn’t normally my genre but it’s so loved! But this book was not for me. I DNF’d 23% in and that was even a push to get that far in as it just personally left me bored the whole time. 🙊 don’t get me wrong - there’s a good reason this is so popular, but done as a fantasy book it’s not things that work for me and that’s okay. If you’re not sure if it’s for you, I’d still say there’s a good chance it could be based on all the 5 star reviews I’ve seen!
