A Wild Swan: And Other Tales by Michael Cunningham

3.75

2016 review:
Quite disturbing but also refreshingly honest. I have to say I had no idea what I was getting myself into when I committed to reading this book. It was a birthday gift from a friend of mine and I never took the time to read the synopses in the cover. Instead I just started reading and here we are.

Inside are a few very familiar fairy-tales. Only they are not what they usually are. The have been edited into something new, something more cruel and honest. We experience Rumpelstiltskin version of the story we have been told over and over. And the tales question what we call a happy ending. When do we get to the phenomenon known as a happy ending?
