Missouri's Mad Doctor McDowell: Confederates, Cadavers and Macabre Medicine by Lorelei Shannon, Victoria Cosner

3.0

Fun read. Dr. McDowell was quite the eccentric.

However, the writing style sometimes seemed a bit amateurish. Some of the citations used were not really from reputable sources either. The book went on several tangents, some of which weren't quite related to the subject at hand, but most of them were interesting nonetheless. I also didn't quite understand why the chapters were organized in the way they were. Despite these flaws, it kept me entertained for the afternoon it took to finish.
