The Iliad by Homer

2.0

The Iliad is such a huge classic and I was initially really excited to read it because of various other things I've read or watched that have been inspired by it. Unfortunately, this didn't hold up to my expectations. There were some parts of it that I really did enjoy and some of the lines were beautiful and fantastic. That being said, there was too much war. (Yes, I am aware that's kind of the point. I just don't like reading about war. It's boring.) Also, I didn't like any of the Argives. I was rooting for the doomed Trojans the whole time. Hector was my favorite and his death was so sad. Also where exactly was the Trojan horse? And Achilles' death? I was waiting for those...are they in The Odyssey? I guess I'll find out since I'm reading that next. Wish me luck.
