A Slight Misunderstanding by Douglas Parmée, Prosper Mérimée

2.0

Picked this up on a whim at Half-Price Books a while back. Sometimes that works out well for me, this time it did not. This was a pretty standard moral tale for its time, complete with the misogyny. Gotta love how the men in these books that are involved in the affair always get off scott-free, while the women either die (literally) or end up penniless. Very predictable. The only redeeming point was the smattering of witty social insights. This is what I get for buying cheap books without knowing anything about the author/plot beforehand -_-
