This book should have been half as long, or broken into two books. But there was a lot to like. The world felt almost sci-fi in its detailed ecosystem and cultures. The range of characters was compelling (though time spent with warriors in battle was tiresome). The end was a terrific and memorable payoff- four or five major shifts and reveals happened in the final couple of chapters.
