Asunder by David Gaider
4.0
I love Dragon Age. I played all 3 games to completion and thoroughly enjoyed my time with each one (even Dragon Age 2). So it was only natural that I try some of the books set in this universe (written by David Gaider no less, the lead-writer for the games).
Honestly I did not know what to expect. I did some research and felt that most people liked Asunder best out of all the DA books so I went with it. It features Cole, one of the best characters from the games, along with two very minor characters from Inquisition.
The book is thoroughly entertaining from start to finish, great for lovers of the franchise with plenty of nods and background information for Inquisition. The plot is good and works well as a support for the action and ties in very well with Inquisition. I am repeating myself but you can really tell that the game and the book share the same writer and David really sets the stage brilliantly for everything that will happen (or rather has happened) in the game. I would consider it a fun, must-read for any fan of the franchise.
