The Taking Of Annie Thorne' has many mysteries and secrets from the start. I was a bit stuck between 4 or 3 stars therefore I went for 3 because the first part of the book was a bit boring, yet hooked me in from the mystery to deep dark secrets that Arnhill has.
Joe Thorne has many secrets from his teenage years, to his sister missing and then reappearing after 48 hours. He goes back to his home town, after getting an anonymous email stating that they know what happened to his sister. Investigating and digging deeper into the town's secrets. He has his own problems, gambling, alcohol and lies to get a job at Arnhill Acdemy. It is clear that he loves protecting his students from bullying and wants the best for his students too. But can he protect himself from his own problems?
It was rather interesting, as the author added in creepy and scary vibes to the story as the chapters progressed further to the end. I hoped C.J Tudor would've explained more in depth about what 'truly' happened to Joe's sister or the many secrets that has kept me on the edge. The ending sure did surprise me, but I wash etching to get more answers as they were left unsaid.
