I found the writing style very enjoyable - Ingrid’s internal monologue is strange and biting. It’s one of those books where the highlight is in seeing the world from a strange and interesting new lense. The other characters are similarly strange with odd, destructive behavior that is almost Orwellian. 
The characterization, writing and themes were engaging, but ultimately the plot seemed to lack direction and the ending fizzled out, leaving me feeling disappointed with this promising book.
