The Picture of Dorian Gray
by Oscar Wilde
woah…this story was very vivid, I understand fully why this is a classic, and it made me reflect on the blessing of being able to hold one’s scars, how beautiful a scar is in how it’s holds a memory, how aging is the mark of a life lived. I love looking at my parents age and seeing that mark of time, how much they have seen and done, what amazing lives that have had and are living, that mark of age is a wonderful diary of time and mystery of their lives and I cherish it, in them and in my friends and in myself.
This is a gem and felt wholly complete by the end in its ideas that sliced through the time period in 1890(!) as it still does now. I look forward to becoming an english teacher or professor so i can reflect on this book again and again as i too grow and age :)
