Shards of Earth by Adrian Tchaikovsky

3.0

I love AT's creativity when it comes to world building. In this book, he even tunes it up a notch by extending his mastery to planets, races, and the socio-political relationships between them. Shards of Earth was an interesting reading, however, the plot and some of the characters were a bit forced at times. The awe I felt was somehow diluted if compared with what I got from other books from him, Children of Time at the top of the list.
Overall interesting! Will be waiting for the second title of the trilogy to be available in paperback!
