This cover is WAY cooler than my library copy. Definite 3.5 - fun story but slow going at times, especially initially. Also, the oldest brother (there are ALWAYS three kids needed in these tales, why?) was a prig and sexist a whole heck of a lot of the time. I did love the menace and the historical references though one of my favorite memories of this book will always be seeing EWER in a sentence and NOT in the NY Times crossword. I've already requested the next book.
