Showa: A History of Japan, 1926-1939 by Shigeru Mizuki

5.0

1. The art is amazing. I love the swap back and forth between the super realistic and the cute manga/children’s novel style.

2. It’s so informative! I never really even had a clue about Japan’s history before other than some of the Shogun period and around WWII, but this is a whole new world. I wish I could read about all nation’s history in this format.

3. It’s fantastic storytelling. I was hooked from beginning to end

I can’t wait to read the rest :)
