Overall, I thought this was pretty well done. Things I often notice is inconsistent tones in romance books. You can’t have the most fluffiest romcom with a sudden murder in the last 50 pages. But this was very consistent. That tense, uncomfortable feeling was there from beginning to end. I feel like the MMCs didn’t get even attention, one for sure got the most interest from the author.Matt treated Briar like a total child. I understand trauma is a bitch but that doesn’t give him the right to be such an asshole to her throughout the book. I’m happy that she was able to throw all the shit he did back in his face. Kenta seemed to be the only one really looking out for her. Glen was fine, but Matt was the worst. I would’ve given this a much higher score if he wasn’t so…dickish Also I would like to add that there’s a lot of diet culture/restrictive eating talk and it’s not totally addressed.
