The Final Gambit
by Jennifer Lynn Barnes
Again, plot was insane. It's always a bit slow at the end, but as soon as it gets to the middle there are so many plot twists that your brain explodes. I don't really like the love triangle stuff and it was kind of annoying to read, but I like all the parts other than that. I think it loses a star just because of that, but I would definitely start from the middle and read it again just for plot. It must've taken so much planning. I know the love triangle stuff probably just caters to a different audience. At first I didn't like the ending, but when she revealed all of her plan, it made more sense. Overall great series. I liked how every piece tied into every other piece. I can't imagine the time, planning, and organization every book took individually--but to tie them all together? Crazy. Well done, especially since each book resolved itself, but there were still enough loose ends that each book could grow, loose ends that were impossible to spot before.
