I knew I had to check out her books after hearing from Lee at her joint book launch with a beloved author! She was hilarious in person, and her dry humor transferred so well to this book! Hannah Tate is a compelling character struggling with her self-worth and family history.

Lee described this book as walking the line between Women's Fiction and Romance, and I think she does this gorgeously. The book focuses on Hannah's personal development, which coincides with her developing relationship with River. As a new mom, Hannah is dealing with body issues, her poor relationship with her son's father, and her complicated relationship with her mother and stepfather.

Hannah is unsure what she wants professionally, romantically, or financially and must dedicate herself to personal growth to improve her life. Too many things have just happened to her, and the reader wants to cheer when she finally decides to make her own path in life! River is a wonderful love interest for someone like Hannah, who also doesn't fully know what he wants from life or how to achieve it.

Hannah's relationship with her mom and stepfather is the most beautiful part of this story, as she discovers their attempts to improve themselves after relying on her for a long time. She has to work through her childhood trauma as she lives with them and watches them be kind and caring grandparents, friends, and neighbors.

I love romances set in places that are atypical in the genre so I loved the setting of the Mountains of Georgia as it captures the beautiful scenery and wonderful community rural America can create.

So excited to read the next one!
